How to print the loyalty card properly

  1. Paper: 250 to 300 gsm card stock, matt. Thin copy paper creases after two days in a wallet.
  2. Print dialog: “Save as PDF”, scale 100 % (not “fit to page”), and turn background graphics on.
  3. Cutting: A cutting ruler and a craft knife beat scissors. The cards sit 4 mm apart, which is enough for a clean cut.
  4. Stamp: A small rubber stamp (8 to 10 mm across) fits the circles exactly. A pen initial works too, but looks cheaper.

What belongs on a good loyalty card

A stamp card works when the customer understands it in one second. That is why the template has exactly five elements: your name, the reward in one sentence, the stamp grid, one line of rules and a colour accent so the card stands out in a wallet.

The reward is the most important sentence. “10 stamps = 1 free coffee” beats “Collect points and enjoy benefits”. Concrete, with a number, no footnote. The rules line settles the three arguments in advance: one stamp per purchase, non-transferable, no cash payout.

The weak spot of every paper card

Roughly every second paper card is never filled. It stays at home, gets forgotten or ends up in the bin. And you learn nothing: not who holds a card, not when someone last came in, not whether the whole thing works at all.
